The Festival is proud to have completed a community project at Sainte-Cécile Church

Concerts will be pleasant this summer: the church is now air-conditioned!

Lamèque, N.B., Thursday, July 13, 2023: The Lamèque International Baroque Music Festival is proud to have completed a community project at Sainte-Cécile Church, its main concert venue. A total of $20,000 was raised to install four heat pumps in the church.

The new system will reduce heating bills in winter and provide air conditioning in summer during Festival concerts.  According to Festival president Jean-René Noël, everyone will benefit from this initiative.  "The people of the parish are very happy because of the savings that will be made.  For our part, the air-conditioning will greatly enhance the experience of music lovers, as people know that it can get hot in the church during our events".

The Festival contributed the sum of $10,000 towards the project.  "We thank our other financial partners, the Fondation communautaire des pionniers et pionnières and the Lamèque Port Authority, who each contributed $5,000. The Festival also thanks the Saint-Pierre Parish and the Sainte-Cécile christian community for their invaluable cooperation.

The 47th season of the Lamèque International Baroque Music Festival will take place from July 27 to 29, 2023. Tickets are on sale at www.festivalbaroque.com and at the Festival office (506-344-3261).
