Martine Thériault Appointed Chair of the Festival Board of Directors

Lamèque, N.-B., Tuesday, January 13, 2026: The Lamèque International Baroque Music Festival is pleased to announce the appointment of Martine Thériault as Chair of its Board of Directors. A well-known figure in the Acadian cultural community, Martine Thériault succeeds Jean-René Noël, who served with dedication for the past 15 years. “I am honored to take on the role of Chair for such a unique event and excited to contribute to the success of the 2026 edition, which will mark the Festival’s 50th anniversary,” says Martine Thériault. She has led major cultural events such as the Festival acadien de Caraquet, FrancoFête en Acadie, and the Réseau atlantique de diffusion des arts de la scène (RADARTS). New Brunswick Arts Board’s Award of Excellence in Community Cultural Development in 2004, as well as the title of Cultural Ambassador in 2008. Her appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the Festival, which is preparing a historic edition to celebrate 50 years of baroque music from July 30 to August 1, 2026.
